Golden Light

It rained here yesterday afternoon - in fact it poured!   A sizable "lake" formed out back and, after the rain stopped, the light turned absolutely golden in color.      I've only seen these light conditions once in a long time.   Very interesting and very different- I wish I knew what creates the right conditions.

What I'm Working on Right Now

Right now, I'm working on copper items - a whole new ballgame for me.   I should have some photos over the weekend.  Some of these pieces will be shown in the Artisans Guild Gallery.

I'm trying to get pieces ready for several upcoming shows and starting in October, a local church is hosting an invitational art show that will run through the end of this year.  Some of my woven pendants and necklaces (both fiber and metal) will be displayed in this show.   I have to decide whether I have enough display pieces to handle my show needs and also the art exhibit - I may have to get a few more.

Before starting on the copper pieces, I was finishing several new designs in freshwater pearls.  Here are a couple of freshwater pearl pieces that I completed recently.

Mucho Angst

I've had nightmares recently.  For years, I backed up onto Zip disks and CDs.  Earlier this month I had a peripheral drive fail - the drive my backups were on.  Thankfully, the important info has been retrieved and I'll soon be current on everything, but this is a very real nightmare that I never thought I'd go through.  I'm back to a double set of backups on anything of importance.   Perhaps online backup is the way to go?

Another Funky Pendant

I designed this freshwater pearl necklace and pendant for me!   I combined iridescent honey colored flat on one side pearls with some white potato pearls and added a funky pearl pendant.   The pendant can be removed so I can wear the lovely pearls alone.
