The Santa Fe Folk Art Market

The Santa Fe International Folk Art Market is this weekend.   It’s quite an event and something you shouldn’t miss if you sell or collect weavings, baskets, or other examples of folk art.   The collection of artists at the market is impressive – 134 are listed in the program.   The artists come from a wide range of countries around the globe.   Many are part of cooperatives in their countries.   These coops provide an organization for their members and generate employment as well as training in business and marketing.   The United Nations has declared 2012 to be the “Year of the Cooperative” in recognition of their many contributions.

This is my first visit to this remarkable event and it won’t be my last.   Next year I’ll be sure to have my camera along.

Getting Back to Work

I'm finally about ready to get back to work on jewelry.  Hooray!  The photography equipment hasn't been set up yet - still working on that, but otherwise, things are ready to go.

Santa Fe!

Thunder is booming and I'm watching storm clouds chase around. So far not a lot of rain.   We've finally moved into our house in Santa Fe and put the RV in storage.  There are still boxes to be opened and more work to do, but we are here!!!  I'm gradually getting my studio set up - I'm really excited!
