Celebration of Chiles

I didn't realize that late September would bring numerous "celebrations of chiles" here in New Mexico.  There are all sorts of decorations that include chiles large and small popping up everywhere.   There's quite a selection at our local Farmer's Market.   It's really a big deal!

There have been all sorts of special dinner menus and wine pairings at local restaurants for a last couple of weeks, plus a big event on last Saturday night that was held in a giant tent out by the opera.  Although I missed the boat this year, I'll be ready next September to get my ticket reservations in early for some of these events.

In my own chile celebration, I have brand new ristras (braided clusters of red chiles) at the front door!
